Happy Birthday Bob Marley
“Emancipate yourselves from mental slavery, None but ourselves can free your mind”
Robert Nesta Marley, ICON, ACTIVIST, MUSICIAN, JAH RASTAFARI, but most importantly FATHER, HUSBAND, SON, or just Bob Marley.
No quote is as ever resemble a man as Legendary as Bob Marley. I came into contact with the music and life of Bob Marley on accident. I stumbled across some of his catalog and after hearing the rhythm of the instruments, his raspy voice riding the beat, I BECAME ADDICTED!! Every song he wrote, produce, song, or maybe thought of has so much meaning behind each word. He wanted us as blacks to not only educate ourselves about who we are as people, but to take it a step deeper and remember the our fellow man who came before us. The struggle, the sacrifice, the trials, the tribulations, the joy, the pain, the anguish. Remember Bob “Tuff Gong” Marley THE MAN who sung revolutionary songs that should inspire us all. Until his final resting day he faught to remove British rule over Jamaica. He went as far as being shot while relaxing at his home before his PEACE concert in his hometown of Jamaicia. The shooting was suppose to deter him from performing that night. Right after the tragic ordeal he still took the stage and performed in front of a soldout crowd. This is not the myth of a man, these are facts of a Man who believed in his people and their right for freedom and equality. We can all embodied his strength and stand strong for not only us, but OUR FUTURE GENERATION!! “Get Up Stand Up, Stand Up for Your Rights, Get up, stand up: don’t give up the fight! Get up, stand up: stand up for your rights! Get up, stand up: don’t give up the fight!”
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO A GREAT MAN BOB “TUFF GONG” MARLEY. JAH BLESS
